The world premiere of the compact Leap Motor T03April 9, 2020
The Chinese manufacturer Leap Motor introduced to the world T03 – a compact EV with a decent power reserve.
Last year, Leap Motor showed off the first design sketches of the T03, an all-new electric hatchback with a striking design. And although it may be incorrect at the very beginning to talk about the “stolen design” of the new Chinese model, experts could not help but note the impact on the design of Smart Forfour and Renault Twingo.
T03 has a length of 3.62 meters, a width of 1.65 meters and a height of 1.58 meters. The distance between the front and rear axles is 2.4 meters. The luggage compartment has a volume of 210 liters, but with the rear seat folded, it increases to 508 liters.
The T03 has a 39 kWh battery at the bottom, which corresponds to a 403-kilometer NEDC range. According to the WLTP research method, this value will be lower, but for a compact city car such as the T03, it is quite acceptable.
Although the T03 is very small, it is very well equipped. Leap Motor talks about versions with adaptive cruise control and a battery with 13 sensors, with which the T03 can also support itself between charges. A little beginner can even park himself. Leap Motor provides the T03 with a large 8-inch digital instrument panel screen, and in the center of the dashboard is a 10.1-inch infotainment system screen.
T03 owners receive a telephone application with which you can request the status of the battery pack, but also manage climate control. Leap Motor promises to expand the functionality of the T03 in the future through software updates “over the air.” Things like ABS and traction control are standard.
