The Hyundai Vision T Concept gets a more familiar “face” and begins to look like the new Tucson.
This year, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai stepped into the future of the compact crossover with the Vision T Concept show car. The novelty is distinguished by massive air intakes, partially illuminated grille with an unusual pattern, as well as voluminous buffers, a sloping roof line and aft without frills.
It is known that Hyundai is working on a new generation of Tucson, and designer Aksyonov Nikita presented his vision of the next-generation crossover through three-dimensional rendering. Having received a new “face”, complemented by a grille with narrow headlights and a slightly improved bumper, as well as traditional exterior mirrors instead of cameras, the novelty looks almost identical to the show car, preserving the plastic lining of the body, wheels and a “muscular” silhouette.
In addition to an updated appearance, the new generation of Tucson will receive the latest technological capabilities and the corresponding cardinal changes inside. The “American” engine range will be replenished with a 2.5-liter power unit, both in the naturally aspirated version and with a turbocharger, while Europeans will receive 1.6-liter GDI and T-GDI, which will probably work as part of a hybrid power plant. An 8-speed automatic will also be used as a transmission. In the “base” the crossover will be delivered with front-wheel drive, and the top-end configurations will receive an all-wheel drive system.
