To be more precise, the total amount of time spent on development and modeling was 18,000 hours. That is approximately two years of continuous work without days off, sleep and lunch. The debut took place as part of the Ferrari Finali Mondiali.
Last weekend, the famous Ferrari Finali Mondiali event took place, within the framework of which the updated Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 model year was presented. A distinctive feature of the novelty was a completely redesigned body in accordance with the new aerodynamics requirements, a modified suspension, a modified engine, as well as a new livery.
According to company representatives, the development and design of the model took 18,000 hours. Most of the time was taken by the design of the body, taking into account aerodynamics. For this, bumpers, fenders, spoilers, diffusers and body contours were completely changed. As a result, the car became more stable, and the downforce increased.
As the power unit, the old engine with minor modifications is used: a 3.9-liter gasoline turbocharged engine, capable of developing up to 650 horsepower. The wheelbase and platform also remained the same, but received a number of improvements. A new driver’s seat appeared in the cabin, which allowed to reduce the weight of the car by 2.4 kg.
The company noted that the updated body kit can be ordered for the current version of the car. Unfortunately, the cost has not yet been announced.
