The web has the first photo of the dashboard of the new Corvette С8July 3, 2019
Journalists managed to capture the virtual dashboard of a new generation of American sports coupe. Presentation of new items will be held July 18.
Journalists recently photographed a completely new generation Corvette sports coupe prototype (index C8), which was tested at the Nürburgring race track. Now, we have a photo showing a virtual dashboard of the model.
The published video shows a pair of prototypes of the new C8, refueled at a gas station near the racetrack. The journalists managed to find the right time to get as close as possible to the cars and make a couple of important shots.
So, we see a large horizontal screen with two different display zones. The first focuses on which transmission mode is currently selected, and includes a horizontal tachometer at the top of the screen. In the adjacent area of the display, you can see a round tachometer in the center of the display. Details such as a tire pressure monitoring system and engine oil temperature are also shown.
Engineers from Chevrolet, who were driving the prototypes that were spotted, were rather aggressively moving away from the site, giving us the opportunity to hear the aspirated V8 in all its glory. According to the latest information, the Corvette C8 will be shown on July 18th. Under the hood of the long-awaited novelty will be a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a power of about 500 hp, the car will be available with rear-wheel drive and will be equipped with a dual-clutch gearbox. But the manual transmission, as reported, is out of the question.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the first shots of the new generation Corvette C8 coupe appeared on the network. Not only did the anonymous hero capture the long-awaited Corvette with a mid-range engine, which is known by the internal designation C8, as he did with an old VHS camcorder from the 1980s.
