The model we know is offered in the Chinese market as a model called the Buick Verano. The updated sedan is already preparing for sales that will begin in the near future.
Chinese automotive publications have published a series of photos of the updated Opel Astra. To be more precise, we were shown Buick Verano, which is a complete analogue of the Astra. Judging by the photographs presented, the model will receive a revised front and rear design. There are new headlights, bumpers and grilles. The license plate has now moved to the trunk lid.
The dimensions remained the same: the length increased to 4,723 mm (+5 mm), and the distance between the axles remained the same – 2,700 mm. Inside, little will change, but a refreshing look can be noted due to the updated multimedia, new decorative overlays and a color display built into the dashboard.
Three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbo engines with a capacity of up to 125 horsepower (180 Nm of torque), as well as a 1.3-liter for 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque will be offered as a power unit. Together with them, a six-speed manual transmission or CVT will work.
Cost has not yet been announced, but the previous version cost from 145,900 yuan
Meanwhile, Opel unveiled the first rally electric car before the official debut. The future Corsa-e sports car will take part in races already in 2020. The debut of the civilian version will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
