The tests showed the next generation of high-performance Audi RS3April 27, 2020
Journalists captured the prototype of the new generation Audi RS3 sedan. A powerful German novelty passes high-speed tests on the Nurburgring race track.
Audi RS3 is the most affordable car in the current RS-family of the Audi brand, which combines stunning dynamics with dimensions that are compact enough for a city car. After the automaker introduced the next-generation Audi A3 sedan, it’s just a matter of time before the much more powerful Audi RS3 debuts. Now, the prototype of the novelty is undergoing a series of high-speed tests on the Nurburgring highway.
Today, the Audi RS3 faces strong competition from the Mercedes-AMG A35 and A45, the BMW M235i xDrive Gran Coupe, as well as the “charged” M2 coupe. Therefore, the new product requires “aces in the sleeve”
The current generation of the Audi RS3 uses a 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder turbocharged engine rated for 394 horsepower. This engine combines with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that delivers power to all four wheels through the legendary Audi Quattro all-wheel drive system. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.5 seconds, which is very impressive for a compact family sedan. The new generation of the sedan, the acceleration time should slightly decrease, and the power increase.
The Audi RS3 combines acceleration of a supercar with a well-equipped interior that offers space for four people. The new generation Audi A3 has become slightly larger than its predecessor, and closely matches the size of the Audi A4 generation B7 sedan.
