The tests noticed a more powerful version of the Hyundai Kona N crossoverMarch 27, 2020
Journalists captured a high-performance version of the South Korean Hyundai Kona crossover. The test prototype of the novelty received red brake calipers and another design of a false radiator grille. Hyundai Kona N will debut this summer.
The new “spy” images show the highly disguised Hyundai Kona, which drives the Nurburgring. More aggressive exterior elements of the car indicate that in front of us there can be nothing more than a more powerful N-version of the crossover or, at least, the N-Line design, which will receive only an aggressive body kit, and not technical changes.
Hyundai engineers cover the body of Kona with camouflage film, black lining and special panels to hide the exterior of the novelty as much as possible from prying eyes.
But still, we can see another grid pattern on the false radiator grille and the grill in the lower part of the front bumper. The latter has larger openings for air intake than on the existing crossover. Behind the five-spoke wheels, red brake calipers are visible. Suspension lift is also slightly lower. At the back there are two massive exhaust openings that are comical for a small crossover. The camouflage on the roof hints that there is a larger spoiler.
Mechanically, the Kona N is reported to have much in common with the high-performance i30 N. This will give the crossover a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 247 and 271 hp. Novika will be available with all-wheel drive layout, and with front-wheel drive only, a six-speed manual gearbox or a dual-clutch gearbox.
