The spy photographed the test KIA Forte GT with a turbo engineAugust 22, 2018
Earlier this year, product manager Kia Forte Derrick Tai, hinted at a “more exciting” version of the model. And now, obviously, we see it for the first time on spy shots published by the foreign portal Carscoops.
Dressed in tight camouflage, the 2020 KIA Forte GT promises to be even more sporty than the base model. Although the camouflage conceals most of the changes in the exterior design, the spies say that the car has a redesigned front end, in particular there are large air intakes and a different grille. Small changes in style have affected the rear end, as the model has a modified rear bumper and a dual exhaust system.
While the design changes did not come out too sharp, the model should get a more powerful engine. So far, the information is unofficial, but still the most likely option is the 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo engine from Hyundai Elantra Sport. It is capable of generating a power of 201 hp. and 264 Nm of torque.
If these figures are transferred to the Forte GT, the model will have an additional 54 hp and 85 Nm in comparison with the standard model equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder engine (147 hp 178 Nm).
Since the GT is likely to take the pinnacle of the evolution of Forte or, at least, approach it, you can expect that the car will be well equipped. For example, climate control for two zones, an eight-inch touchscreen multimedia system and a set of assistant drivers. In the cabin can also be used several sports styles, but this is not accurate.
Given that the standard Forte does not plan to be released to the markets before the end of 2018, it is likely that the GT will be introduced only in 2020.
