The sports version of the Peugeot 508 PHEV is getting readyMarch 11, 2020
Peugeot Sport is exchanging images of a sports plug-in hybrid 508, which may soon appear on sale as the Peugeot 508 Sport.
A year ago, Peugeot was already showing the sporty 508th, which received 200 horsepower. from a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and two electric motors. The hybrid installation delivers a total power of approximately 400 hp. After that, the French were silent for a long time about this concept, but in February the brand unexpectedly shared via Twitter several photos of an almost ready-for-production version.
The company is currently taking another step by showing more images of the sports 508 on its own website. Unfortunately, apart from the images, Peugeot leaves nothing more concrete. Perhaps he was about to report the news at the canceled Geneva Motor Show.
In the new photos, we again see the sporty 508 with additional spoilers, as well as special 20-inch wheels with large bright green calipers at the rear. The car also has a unique color scheme.
Although it remains to be seen what is the power supply for this ready-to-launch sports 508, it is clear that it will be a plug-in hybrid powerplant. Peugeot Sport may have been working on a more powerful version of the 1.6 Turbo, which currently uses the 508 PHEV. The total power of a conventional hybrid with this engine is 225 hp, but the power is from 250 to 300 hp. It seems to us more obvious for this PSE 508. By the way, 3008 as a Hybrid4 from a comparable motor already produces 300 hp.
