The company is considering the option of creating “hot” Lexus UX hybrids
A compact crossover Lexus UX can get a “hot” F-version with a reconfigured hybrid powerplant. According to the company’s executive vice president Chiki Kako, the brand intends to change the image of hybrids and in the future to present more sporting options.
In an interview with WhatCar? Kako said that the final decision to bring a new modification to the market has not yet been made, but UX has the potential to become one of the F-models. Improvements in the dynamic characteristics of the crossover are to be achieved by special calibration of the control unit and installation of a powerful electric motor – now the motor on the UX 250h produces only about seven horsepower.
A new hybrid installation Lexus has already started testing on the LC coupe. According to rumors, on the two-door, its total return is about 600 hp. On a conventional LC 500h, the hybrid unit produces 359 horsepower.
Now the basic modification of the Lexus UX is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine with a power of 171 horsepower. Box – Variator Direct Shift with a manual “starting” transmission. The senior unit is a hybrid unit based on a two-liter “atmospheric”. Its output is 178 horsepower.
