In 2020, Audi will release a crossover Q1, which will be built on the basis of A1 next generation compact car
The company Audi will release its smallest crossover, which will receive the designation Q1, two years later. About this, with reference to its own source reports edition of Auto Express.
According to preliminary data, the all-terrain vehicle will be built on the basis of the A1 model of the next generation, which in turn will be transferred to the modular platform MQB-A0. At the moment, this chassis, in particular, is the basis of Skoda Fabia, Seat Ibiza and Volkswagen Polo.
Thus, the engine line will include motors from the new family, including gasoline turbo units with 1.0 and 1.5 liters working capacity, as well as 1.6-liter diesel engines. It is not excluded that the units will work together with the 48-volt on-board power supply. For example, such a scheme is used on the flagship sedan A8 of the new generation.
Soon, Audi will significantly expand its line of all-terrain vehicles. So, in addition to model A1, the German brand will have a coupe-like crossover Q4, as well as the flagship Q8, as well as the Q3 next-generation model. Finally, this year will be presented fully electric SUV – e-Tron.
