The second-generation Hongqi H7 snapshot from Rolls-Royce designer has been posted onlineNovember 28, 2019
The Chinese press released the debut shot of the second-generation Hongqi H7 sedan, which will be the first model with a new modular architecture. The design of the new product was worked by former Rolls-Royce stylist Giles Taylor.
Last year, the FAW automaker announced that it was restarting the Hongqi brand. According to the 2-year plan, everything must be changed – from the platform to the original style and positioning. The ambition of the goals was to be confirmed by a full-size coupe layout in concept, reminiscent of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6. It also demonstrated a new design language that emphasizes the U-shaped radiator grille and narrow headlights.
Along with this, it was announced a change of logo, the creation of a model architecture of FME and technologies of autonomous movement. According to the new strategy, the company intends to submit 15 electrified cars and two with internal combustion engines by 2025; increase sales first to 100,000, and then to 300,000 cars. The harbinger of the Hongqi novelties was the prototype E115 electric crossover, which was shown in Frankfurt this fall.
The debut mass model built on the new architecture will be the second-generation H7 sedan. The design of the car fully repeats the style of conceptual coupe and cross. There is no official information about the technical equipment, however, Chinese correspondents have no doubt that the H7 will be equipped with a “turbo four” 4GC20TD in three versions of the force. A 6-speed automatic transmission will be replaced by a preselective robotic transmission with two clutches.
