The presentation of the car took place at the recent Auto Expo, which took place in India.
Korean auto giant KIA has decided on the launch date for the new Sonet crossover, which premiered last week. Serial versions of the car will go to official dealerships in August 2020. Note that at first the novelty will be available only to Indian customers, and then it can go to other markets. The assembly of the car will be launched at the newly built KIA plant in India. In this case, the list and composition of all trim levels will be announced closer to the start of sales.
Buyers will be offered to choose from four power units. The base engine will be a 1.2-liter “aspirated” with a return of 83 hp. Also in the engine range is an atmospheric 1.6-liter engine with 123 hp. Two other power plants were a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 120 hp. and a 1.5-liter diesel power unit with 90 horsepower.
Atmospheric motors work in tandem with a manual transmission or variator, depending on the selected configuration, and a turbocharged power unit relies on a robotic gearbox.
The car will have rich technical equipment – we note the start of the engine with a button, an infotainment system with a touchscreen, air conditioning, climate control, six airbags. Among the assistants, we distinguish adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, stabilization systems and frontal collision avoidance.
