The revived Delage unveils its first supercarSeptember 24, 2020
French classic car manufacturer Delage has returned to the market with the D12.
The Delage brand was originally founded in 1905 and, in addition to racing, has been developing and manufacturing luxury and therefore expensive cars such as the exclusive D6 and D8 supercars. In the 1950s, Delage became part of Hotchkiss with Delahaye, but the Delage brand was revived at the end of last year. During the Top Marques exhibition in Monaco, the brand unveils its first child: D12.
The Delage D12 is a simple supercar that shares some of the classic features of the original Delage models. This does not make the car less interesting, because the exterior with its quirky lines can be called wonderful anyway. Just as it used to be when Delage cars were derived from racing models, the brand says the D12 is as close to an “F1 road car” as possible.
The D12 is powered by a 7.6-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that is paired with an electric motor and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The total power of the hybrid system is 1000 hp. The new D12 is reportedly 90 kg lighter than the original. In addition, Delage is already talking about a 1010 hp variant. – Club versions.
The starting price of the Delage D12 is 2 million euros. A total of thirty copies will be built, two of which have already been sold. The first copies should be delivered in the second half of 2022.
