The British magazine Engine Technology International has named the winners of the International Engine of the Year award. The 3.9-liter biturbo engine has been the leader for the fourth year in a row. The main competitors for him were the engines: 4.0 V8 Mercedes-AMG (Mercedes-AMG GT, Aston Martin Vantage), 2.5-liter Porsche turbo engine (718 Cayman S) and 2.0 TFSI Audi (Audi TT, Volkswagen Golf GTi, Cupra Ateca) .
Also, experts announced the results of the award in the nomination “The best new engine.” It turned out to be an electrical installation Jaguar I-Pace. The same power plant was the best in the category “electric motors”. In the nomination “best hybrid”, the unit from BMW i8 won (1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine paired with an electric motor).
Also the leader of the nomination motor from Ferrari became the winner in the nomination “The best sports motor”.
