The representative of Land Rover spoke about the new generation DefenderMay 30, 2019
The official representative of the Australian branch of the company shared details about the new product. “The most powerful car we have ever created,” – according to Cameron, should be introduced right before the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year and go on sale by the end of the year or early in 2020.
We waited patiently for the revival of the legend of off-road, originally from the UK. Yes, yes, this is Land Rover Defender. We are waiting since the “old” model was discontinued in January 2016. Initially, Land Rover denied rumors about the emergence of a completely new generation of this model. But now only a few months left before the official presentation of the SUV. As we get closer to this date, the guys from Land Rover are starting to share with the public more and more information about the long-awaited new product.
In an interview with Motoring, Mark Cameron, a representative of the Australian branch of Jaguar Land Rover, said that the new Defender has a chance to become one of the company’s best-selling models.
This is because the new Defender will be offered to the buyer in an incredible variety of different designs. He referred to the Toyota Land Cruiser as an example of how the Defender family will look like in a few years, when all versions of the body and configuration planned for production will be available.
Further, Cameron mentioned that the Defender 2020 model year will be “completely modern” not only in terms of off-road capabilities, but also in terms of security. Unlike its predecessor, which was basically a “workhorse,” the next generation model will provide the comfort and refinement that you expect from Land Rover cars. At the same time, “an acceptable level of safety for pedestrians, drivers and passengers” is guaranteed.
