The release of the films “Fast and the Furious 9” and “No Time to Die” postponed againOctober 5, 2020
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many events have been canceled, and new movie premieres are no exception. So, the first showing of the ninth part of the Fast and Furious franchise, which was originally scheduled to take place on May 22, 2020, was postponed to April 2, 2021. As the Hollywood Reporter found out, now the release date has been changed again – to May 28, 2021.
This decision may be related to another film of interest to motorists – the 25th James Bond film, “No Time to Die.” It was supposed to be released in November 2019, but then the premieres were alternately postponed to February, April and November 2020, and now – to April 2, 2021, that is, to the previous release date of Fast and Furious 9.
Obviously, the studios decided that releasing two of these films on the same day was not a good idea. The No Time to Die official website states that the premiere has been postponed “so that a global audience can see it.” In other words, MGM hopes that by next spring the COVID-19 problem will not be so acute, and people will return to cinemas.
Recall that the ninth “Fast and the Furious” will be the penultimate part of the series. In it, viewers will see the return of Song Kang as Han Liu, the appearance of John Cena as Dominic Toretto’s younger brother, and a traditional set of chases, fights, shootouts and explosions. In No Time to Die, Daniel Craig will play 007 for the last time. As always, there will be many old and new Aston Martins and other interesting cars in the frame.
