The rarest Mercedes-Benz E 60 AMG sold at the cost of the new MaybachMay 13, 2020
The German auto show on Tuesday, May 12, announced its readiness to sell a rare version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the back of the W124 – the E 60 AMG sedan.
According to official information, a total of 45 cars were produced, having a 381-horsepower V8 engine with a volume of 6.0 liters. The unique E-Class was estimated at 199,000 euros – compared to Germany, there is a new Mercedes-Maybach S 650, which has a V12 engine.
The Mercedes-Benz E 60 AMG sedan is an original and very rare modernization of the legendary 500 E. The working volume of the unit was increased from 5.0 to 6.0 liters, productivity increased to 381 hp. and 580 Nm. Other changes include a reinforced 4-speed automatic transmission, a modified chassis and exhaust.
The instance on sale left the assembly line in December 1993, replaced three owners in 27 years, and was completely restored. As noted, a six-figure sum was invested in the restoration, and the mileage “after zeroing” amounted to 2509 km. How much the E 60 AMG has traveled since release has not been disclosed.
Although more than 35 years have passed since the release of the E-Classes in the back of W124, the equipment is rich: the interior is trimmed in black leather, there are anti-lock brakes, power steering, cruise control, air conditioning, electrically adjustable front seats and mirrors, a sunroof is cut into the roof, audio system installed.
For the Mercedes-Benz E 60 AMG, the seller asks for 199,000 euros. Nevertheless, it is likely that the salon will make concessions in price if a serious buyer appears.
