The prototype of the Porsche Taycan electric sedan seen on the final testsJuly 16, 2019
The German eco-friendly new model year 2020 was seen on the Nürburgring race track during the final tests. The car will be presented in September of this year.
We are about two months from the final debut of the Porsche Taycan electric sedan, which will be positioned as a 2020 model year car. However, while the German automaker is close to removing all the films from the prototypes and showing the car ready for production, the Porsche team is still conducting some final tests. The last video shows us just such a prototype Porsche Taycan, which hones the skills of driving on the Nürburgring race track.
From this video, we hear only the noise of tires and the scream of electric motors. In addition, the video is difficult to determine whether this prototype shows us something that we have not seen before.
Porsche claims that the Taycan can overcome the first 100 khp in less than 3.5 seconds, and the cruising range will be 500 kilometers. However, we do not know the details about the battery or electric motor, special software, charging time, etc. All the indicators we are interested in – the amount of power and torque will be known during the presentation.
The Porsche Taycan will debut this September, probably at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Porsche could have presented it before the show, hoping to get as much attention as possible. Taycan will open up the electric future of Porsche. The company is already preparing to expand the Taycan lineup with the Taycan Cross Turismo station wagon in 2020. This will be followed by new electric cars.
