The prototype of the new Mercedes Citan first caught photo spiesMarch 10, 2020
The novelty will share its technologies with the new Renault Kangoo and Dacia Dokker.
Back in August last year, Daimler officially announced that the next-generation Citan will be developed in collaboration with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. This means that a light commercial vehicle will share its “foundation” and technologies with the new Renault Kangoo and Dacia Dokker. In the meantime, the first spy photos of the prototypes of the new Citan hit the Web. Pictures are published by the foreign portal motor1.com. It is known that the basic shape and dimensions of the three related models will be identical. At the same time, the German brand promises that the new Citan will be identified at first glance as Mercedes-Benz.
In this case, with the help of new items, the automaker will try to respond to criticism from the media and customers. Recall, the current Citan was accused of not justifying its high price. But it was similar to the same Kangoo and Dokker.
About a year ago, the current Citan has been updated, having received the latest generation 1.5-liter turbodiesel from Renault. For the new Citan, the manufacturer is likely to revise the range of available engines, adding a fully electric version.
