The prototype Mercedes EQE could be filmedMarch 2, 2020
The video that hit the Net could be the first “debut” of a new electric sedan.
Mercedes-Benz continues to implement an electrification plan for its lineup. Recently, the brand announced three new hybrids, whose release may take place at the end of 2020. They will make the company an all-electric crossover EQA. Also, by the end of the year we can see the flagship sedan EQS. Now, the foreign portal motor1.com writes that the Germans are working on another electric sedan EQE. The prototype of the future news was even shown on the video. First. A video hosted on the walkoARTvideos YouTube channel. The video captures two prototypes of Mercedes, one of which is obviously the EQS, and the other is the upcoming EQE EV (the electric version of today’s E-Class).
Test cars are similar in body shape. At the same time, experts suggest that the EQE can also get an elegant four-door coupe, but with shorter protrusions than its more luxurious counterpart.
According to preliminary data, the EQE will be electric, and the E-Class will be sports. It will be produced exclusively in all-wheel drive with one electric motor for each axis and a total power of over 402 hp. The battery capacity will be enough for the car to travel about 600 kilometers without recharging. EQE also has semi-autonomous functions and a sophisticated air suspension guaranteeing a smooth ride.
The release of EQE is unlikely to take place before the end of 2021, since Mercedes already has a rather tight schedule for the production of electrified models. The release of the new product, as in the case of EQS, will be undertaken by the new German factory Factory 56.
