The production version of the BMW iNext will differ little from the concept.December 6, 2018
So at the Los Angeles Motor Show, chief designer of the German company Andrian van Hoydonk noted that the production version of iNext will have a lot in common in terms of design from its conceptual predecessor.
According to Van Hoydonka, the “i” line was a start-up inside BMW. It allowed designers to feel much freer in the development of a new product, giving opportunities that they had not even previously anticipated. The main objective of the line is the introduction of innovations in technology and design.
However, in the near future the production version is not worth waiting. According to van Hoydonka, it may appear by 2021 – this is the benchmark established within the company. On the other hand, the BMW design chief promises that customers will definitely recognize in it the iNext Vision concept.
Although this news is unlikely to please loyal fans of the brand, who have already seen the similarity of the front of the concept with a rodent, you need to understand that this design is not final and BMW may well bring softer features into the appearance of the electric crossover, nevertheless leaving elegant thin headlights.
In addition, the massiveness of the front grille is explained by the fact that it contains special radar sensors of the latest autonomous system, which should become an integral part of the future crossover.
