The production of the new BMW M3 has startedNovember 5, 2020
BMW has started production of the new M3 sedan at its Munich plant, which produces the entire 3-Series family.
It should be said that all models at the Munich plant, we are talking about the 3-Series in sedan and station wagon bodies, as well as the new M3, are produced on the same line. Recall that the previous generation of the BMW M4 was produced here until spring, while the production of the new generation was transferred to a plant in the German city of Dingolfing. This helped BMW adapt the M4 Coupe’s CFRP roof assembly process for the new M3.
The German company, in particular, has to carry out some of the processes by hand in the seat factory – we are talking about the carbon M seats. In addition, the hood and side panels for the M3 are also made and assembled by hand.
The new BMW M3 and M4 are due to hit European dealerships next March. Both models are powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine that develops 473 hp as standard. (550 Nm), and in the Competition version 503 hp. (650 Nm). The unit can be operated in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive or an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive.
In addition, it was recently noted that the electric BMW 3-Series was spotted in trials. It should be emphasized that the new electric car of the German company will receive a revised front bumper with vertical crossbars.
