The Porsche Taycan electric car is undergoing severe trials beyond the Arctic Circle.February 13, 2019
We have repeatedly written about the prototypes of the future sports electric vehicle. However, now the model has got in three copies at once, and on tests in the conditions of severe cold in the very north of Sweden.
One of the most important resource tests for new cars is a cold test. Different manufacturers approach this differently, but Porsche has decided that their Taycan electric car will be able to overcome any frosts. Therefore, the car is now undergoing the active phase of testing in negative temperatures. Three camouflaged prototypes were seen in the north of Sweden, already beyond the Arctic Circle.
Photospies or eyewitnesses managed to take a few close-up shots while charging. The photos detail the huge brake discs with brake calipers (6 or 8 pistons), as well as some details of the exterior. So, we can see retractable door handles, luggage compartment, black alloy wheels of different models, including aerodynamic, as well as the overall shape of the body.
According to preliminary information, the serial Porsche Taycan electric car will be equipped with several electric motors, with a total capacity of up to 612 horsepower, a battery with a power reserve of up to 500 km, and an 800-volt electric network, which will provide fast charging.
Unfortunately, the photographers could not get close enough to the cars to look inside the cabin. Therefore, so far have to be patient.
