The only copy of the new Bertone Mantide will be sold at auctionJanuary 1, 2020
The Italian-American project will still see its buyer. True, Bertone did not succeed in realizing the small-scale production of its coupe, yet the only exhibition model coupe based on the Corvette ZR1 will be sold.
Already on January 15 this year, the annual auction of unique cars will be held. As part of it, a lot from the Italian company Bertone will be offered – the Mantide coupe model. The car itself is an unfulfilled project, within the framework of which it was planned to release a reliable supercar with a well-known American base and stylish Italian design. In total, it was planned to assemble 10 such machines. But only one demo saw the light.
As the basis used Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 C6. A classic American monster with a 6.2-liter V8 is installed under the hood, capable of developing up to 650 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque. Together with him, a six-speed mechanical transmission was offered.
It is worth noting that the presentation of the model took place back in 2009 as part of the Shanghai Automobile Salon. All external panels are made manually from carbon fiber. Alloy wheels have a unique design, and the interior is finished with premium materials, but in an ascetic style.
Dynamic characteristics are at a high level: acceleration to 100 kph in 3.2 seconds, and the maximum speed is about 350 km / h.
