The offender summoned Uber to commit robberyJuly 22, 2019
One evening, Terry Owens, who works as a driver in the Uber service, suddenly broke into the police and arrested him for allegedly helping to attack a gas station to an armed criminal.
Terry from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has long been a Uber driver in his private car. One evening, he took an order from a certain Austin Harris and took him on a street on the outskirts of the city. The passenger ordered a trip through the entire city, but asked to stop at one of the local gas stations, explaining that he needed to leave for just a few minutes.
As Owens later tells, he didn’t see what Harris was doing at the time, but noticed that he was back in the car with scissors in his hand and behaved somewhat suspiciously. Noticing the driver’s gaze, Austin calmly explained that he had just bought scissors to cut shortcuts from his jacket. An hour after the end of the trip, arriving home, he learned from the police that his passenger was a drug addict and robbed a gas station, threatening the cashier with scissors. Fortunately, the Uber driver was released after questioning.
