The next generation Hyundai Elantra images appeared on the Web for the first time.July 23, 2019
South Korean novelty may debut this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Now we are looking at a prototype car for the first time.
Against the background of the presentation of the Hyundai crossover, the model received the name Palisade, which is also the largest SUV of the South Korean brand, the appearance of the updated 2019 Elantra sedan model year passed unnoticed. Now there is evidence that a full-fledged presentation of Elantra will be organized soon. In the meantime, foreign journalists have published “spy” photos of the next-generation Hyundai Elantra prototype.
Although this is our first look at the new Elantra, we can already make some predictions about what customers should expect.
The next-generation Elantra will probably borrow design replicas from the Hyundai Sonata 2020 sedan model year, which debuted earlier this year. We think that as a result, the new Elantra will acquire a more aggressive design. Hyundai is likely to update the interior of the Elantra.
Under the hood of a South Korean car you should not expect big changes. The naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine will remain – it could be the new engine of the SmartStream family. Most likely, it will be combined with a variator and six-speed manual gearbox, offered in the current version of the car. It is also expected the emergence of economical engine with turbocharging. However, we do not know whether a sports version of the model will be offered. Hyundai talked about the possibility of the appearance of a fully electric car.
Rumors suggest that the car might make its debut as a 2021 model at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year.
