The next generation Ford Mustang will appear only in …April 3, 2019
According to current plans of the American brand, the current generation of the Ford Mustang sports coupe will exist until 2026.
The next generation Ford Mustang will not be introduced until 2026. This is with reference to official sources in the American company say journalists publication Automobile. I note that soon he will remain the only such car of the company in the United States – according to the current brand development strategy, the main focus will be only on crossovers, SUVs and pickups.
This does not mean that for the time being no updates will be provided for the model. Fans of the sports coupe can expect an overhaul of the existing platform over the next few years — the update will also bring a different exterior and hybrid powerplant.
The next Mustang, which will most likely be called the S650, will share the platform with the current versions of the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator crossovers. This platform, known as CD6, will be heavily modified for use in the Mustang, hence the name S650. “Sharing the base platform with such large cars as Explorer will help the Mustang models go only to good use,” an American brand official once said.
Thus, the next Mustang will be larger in size, probably the size of the current Dodge Challenger or even larger.
We are still far from the presentation of the Ford Mustang S550, not to mention the performance of the S650.
