The new Volkswagen Tiguan will appear in 2022August 21, 2019
Volkswagen will release the third generation Tiguan crossover in 2022. Externally, the new product will be significantly different from the current car, with reference to its own source, Auto Express reports.
The next Volkswagen Tiguan will receive a body with a coupe-like silhouette and a falling roof line, and its appearance will become more aggressive. As for the interior, it will be executed in the style of the Passat model for the European market. In particular, the crossover will be available with a fully digital dashboard and a wide display of the multimedia complex.
At the same time, the volume of the luggage compartment will not practically change and will be approximately 470 liters. However, the crossover, as before, will be available in the Allspace modification, which will be approximately 250 mm longer than the standard model.
The third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan will be built on the upgraded modular MQB platform, and most powertrains will be borrowed from the next-generation Golf family. In particular, we are talking about two hybrid units with the possibility of recharging batteries from a household power supply with a capacity of 173 and 253 horsepower. In addition, the Germans will develop a “charged” R-version of the crossover with a two-liter “turbo four”, issuing 355 horsepower.
Finally, the new Volkswagen Tiguan will be available with an autonomous control system corresponding to the fourth-level autopilot. This means that at certain sections of the path the electronics will be able to completely take control.
