The new Volkswagen Tayron has become more popular than the Skoda Kodiaq and KaroqMarch 3, 2019
The German concern has recently been actively fighting internal competition between the brands that make up the holding. Apparently, he managed to keep the leading position for VW.
Back in October, the Volkswagen Tayron mid-size crossover appeared on the market. Even at the start of sales, models predicted a fairly high popularity, but few expected such demand in the first months of sale. The crossover managed to overtake the bestsellers of the Czech company Skoda Kodiaq and Karoq in sales.
According to the Chinese Automotive Manufacturers Association (CAAM), over the first four months of sales, more than 27,000 copies were sold. During the same period, about the same amount of Kodiaq and Karoq crossovers were sold in the local market.
The new model in the entire lineup of Volkswagen got a step lower than the full-size Teramont crossover. Dimensions are fairly standard and are: length – 4,590 mm, width – 1,860 mm, height – 1,660 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,731 mm.
As a power unit on the model proposed line of two-liter TSI turbo engines, capable of developing from 186 to 220 horsepower, depending on the modification. Together with them, only a robotized transmission on seven stages is offered, and as an option you can install the 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen brought the name Jetta into a separate budget brand. Rumors about the creation of another company in the huge VW concern have been around for quite some time, but using the name of a car is an interesting move.
