Volkswagen has launched serial production of its new Nivus crossover. The model “registered” at the plant in the Brazilian city of Anchieta. In 2020, the SUV will get to the South American market, and next year cross is expected in Europe. Recall, the development of Volkswagen Nivus was engaged in the Brazilian division of the brand.
Interestingly, the new model was designed and tested in a digital environment, which saved a good amount. For comparison, before, in order to develop an auto-novelty, it was necessary to build immediately 70 physical prototypes.
Thus, thanks to new technologies, the security laboratory managed to reduce costs by 65 percent, when compared with earlier projects. In addition, virtual technologies have helped to reduce the cost of developing technological processes and debugging production.
Volkswagen Nivus made its public debut at the end of last month. The novelty is based on the platform MQB-A0, and in the model range of the brand for Europe it is allocated a place between the T-Cross and T-Roc. The new crossover will enter the Brazilian and South American market with a single liter three-cylinder turbo engine, combined with 6AKPP and front-wheel drive system.
