The new version of the sedan Geely Emgrand GT: official photosMarch 29, 2018
In China, a standard sedan is sold under the name Borui (another name is GC9). In early March, Geely distributed a teaser and several sketches of the new version of the model. It was assumed that those pictures featured a “certified” version of the sedan, which will be released to the home market under the name Borui GT.
Now the brand has published a full-fledged photo of the novelty and announced the official name – Borui GE. According to local media, the last two letters are decoded as Grand Evolution, and this is not a version under sport, but a hybrid modification.
Geely Borui GE received a new LED optics, a slightly different grille and other bumpers. According to preliminary information, the sedan unit includes a petrol turbo engine 1.5 with a power of 179 hp, an electric motor and a seven-speed automatic transmission with a double clutch. The hybrid can be charged from the mains.
In China, Borui GE sales should start before the end of this year. It is not yet known whether the hybrid will get out of the home market.
Recall, the standard sedan in the Middle Kingdom last year was updated. In the homeland of the brand Borui is available with a gasoline turbo engine 1.8 (184 hp) and gasoline 2.4 (162 hp), both combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.
