The new version of the Audi RS6 Avant appeared almost without camouflageJune 13, 2018
Only recently was the presentation of the new generation of the Audi A6 model line and its more powerful versions of the S6 and S6 Avant. And we were sure that it would be only a matter of time when the top version of the RS6 Avant will appear.
The company Audi has passed to road tests of the new generation of the most powerful station wagon – RS6 Avant. Photographers managed to capture a test prototype on public roads with virtually no camouflage. It is noteworthy that the tests were carried out jointly by another novelty – the RS Q8 crossover.
The revised front bumper is still well closed. Naturally, the new exterior is more aggressive than the standard station wagon, and has two large air vents, a lower diffuser and some new body elements under the head optics. The rear part of something special can not please, except for the visibly enlarged sockets of the exhaust system of the avalanche form.
In the technical part of the car for the most part will be identical to the sports sedan Audi RS7. This means that the sports station wagon can develop power somewhere around 650 horsepower. This will be possible thanks to the turbo-charged V8 engine, and will also surpass the current most powerful version of the RS6 Performance, capable of developing only 605 hp.
Rumors, among other things, suggest that the RS6 can borrow a hybrid installation from the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. This would increase the power to about 700 hp.
A more powerful version also involves the reprocessing of the braking system, the reconfiguration of the suspension and steering, and the provision of a more coordinated work between the engine and the robotic box. Naturally, the internal equipment, as well as the technological filling will not yield to the standard version of the A6.
According to preliminary information, the Audi RS6 Avant can make its debut in the second half of 2019. And experts believe that the reduction of exhibited cars by BMW at the Frankfurt Salon will make it the most profitable and likely option.
Meanwhile, the German brand is actively updating its model line, and integrating new technologies into its cars. So, a new version of the hatchback Audi A1 will be shown in the summer, and will equip it with a new generation of information and entertainment system.
