In the Chinese market, this SUV appeared in late April 2020. The crossover has not yet climbed outside of China, however, in one regional market it is showing excellent sales, leaving behind its main competitors.
In the second quarter of this year, the Toyota Wildlander crossover in the Chinese car market sold 19,000 cars. With this result, he bypassed the sales of his competitor – the Korean cross KIA Sportage. The last one for the reporting months was sold in the amount of 18,000 copies, the New Cars portal shares statistics.
Recall, the new Wildlander on the technical side completely repeats the new generation Toyota RAV4. But it’s cheaper. For comparison, for Wildlander they ask from 171,800 to 241,800 yuan. Buying a RAV4 will cost more: from 174,800 to 258,800 yuan.

Under the hood of the car is a two-liter 171-strong “aspirated” or 222-horsepower hybrid. The variator was chosen for the role of KP.
The base cross is front-wheel drive, but you can pay extra and become the owner of an all-wheel drive SUV. The manufacturer offered customers three such modifications at once, and one for the hybrid (E-Four) with an additional electric motor on the rear axle. Also, the novelty got popular driver assistants and modern security systems.
Previously, Toyota patented a unique technology for wheel rotation. It would ideally suit electric cars, as well as autonomous or semi-autonomous city cars.
