The Japanese model was equipped with a Dynamic Torque Control AWD circuit, the rear axle of which is connected using an electromagnetic clutch capable of transmitting up to 50% of the torque to the rear wheels.
The all-wheel drive system will become available to cars of the Camry model with a 2.5-liter power unit, issuing 205 horsepower on the American version of the sedan. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It is known that due to all-wheel drive, the mass of the car increased by 75 kg compared to the single-drive version.
Sales of the new Toyota Camry with all-wheel drive system will start in the United States in the spring of 2020. In the fall of the same year, the Avalon sedan version with all-wheel drive will appear on the market.
