The new Subaru crossover will be called EvoltisApril 18, 2020
To create a new SUV, the brand will combine its resources with Toyota. The appearance of an electric crossover is scheduled for 2021.
Toyota and Subaru are working together to create a new EV platform, which is suitable for medium and large passenger cars, as well as C-segment crossovers, like the same Subaru Crosstrek. The new collaboration between the two brands marked the beginning of the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid. The hybrid for this model was borrowed from the Toyota Prius. Also a little earlier this year another joint project was presented – the mysterious concept of the Subaru Mystery Electric SUV. He positioned himself as a rival to the Tesla Model X.
The concept car did not have a name, however, Japanese media write that the new product will be called Evoltis. Back in 2018, a patent for this trade name was filed in the United States.
Serial cars predicted a new 280-horsepower power plant and a high-performance lithium-ion battery. With it, electrocross will be able to cover a distance of up to 500 kilometers. Outwardly, the production car will be more aggressive than the concept. Which is strange, since commercial vehicles, on the contrary, often lose to their prototypes in spectacularity.
So, Evoltis, for example, will be decorated with a giant hexagon-shaped radiator grill and large LED optics. In addition, the novelty will get the latest EyeSight security system. The world premiere of the new electric crossover can be held in October 2021. In these terms should be held a motor show in Tokyo.
