If the Czech car Skoda Octavia will be equipped with classic headlights – without dividing into two parts, it will be very good. According to insiders, the new version of the car will be officially introduced in 2020.

The Czech car Skoda Octavia is the recognized king of practicality in its segment. The first generation of the model appeared in 1996. With each new version, the car became more and more attractive from the point of view of the family vehicle – engineers increased free space both in the cabin and in the luggage compartment, making the Octavia even more spacious than even those models that were in the upper segments . Thus, Skoda Octavia secured the title of the best family car without unnecessary frills. For quite some time, this Czech car is one of the most popular cars in Europe.

However, at the end of 2016 a restyling version of the national car was released, which received a very controversial appearance. The implementation of the divided headlights caused a real stir among the people who usually buy cars of this segment.

Despite the fact that the majority of Octavia owners do not care much for the appearance of their family car, Skoda engineers, impressed by the experience of the German designers from Mercedes-Benz, who made the divided headlights for the E-Class W212, decided on this move.

Nevertheless, the latest sales data provided by Skoda indicate that in May the deliveries of the Octavia model increased by 6.2% compared to the same month of 2017, reaching 35,000 units. The Automation Magazine reports that the Octavia IV will receive the usual headlights that will strive towards the center of the front panel, they will be closely adjacent to the chrome trim of the radiator grille.

The novelty will be built on the upgraded MQB platform from the VW Group, thereby reducing the weight of the car. The engine range will receive an upgraded 1.5 TSI with a capacity of up to 200 hp and a new 1.5-liter diesel – it will replace the existing 1.6 TDI. Charged Octavia RS will receive power up to 250 hp.
