The new Skoda Octavia showed on fresh photosApril 16, 2020
The Czech company has released new photos and videos on the Octavia five-door liftback.
Pictures taken during the international debut in Greece give us a clearer picture of the best-selling Skoda, which is now in its fourth generation. Based on the 2020 MQB Evo Octavia platform, it remains the most spacious car in its class.
The new Octavia is 19 mm longer (a total of 4,689 mm) and 15 mm wider (1,829 mm) than its predecessor, although the wheelbase has remained unchanged at 2686 mm. Also became more spacious interior and trunk (600 liters).
The interior is also more technologically advanced, offering a choice of four infotainment systems from the latest generation of modular matrix and a permanent online connection through the built-in eSIM.
The central touchscreen display sizes from 8.25 to 10 inches and supports gesture control for some functions. The digital voice assistant Laura also appeared. In 2020, Octavia also offers inductive charging for the smartphone and up to five USB ports. Optional is a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital dashboard.
The range of powertrains will include engines of 1.0 and 1.4 liters capacity from 110 to 245 hp. Also, the novelty will receive a hybrid modification, including a “charged” version of the Octavia RS iV.
Another area in which the 2020 Skoda Octavia has improved significantly is driving assistance technology. Newer systems include Collision Avoidance Assist, Turn Assist, Exit Warning and Local Traffic Warning, and more. The new Octavia was supposed to reach European dealerships in June, but an outbreak of coronavirus would likely delay its launch.
