The new Porsche 911 Targa announced a teaserMay 14, 2020
The debut of the novelty will take place on May 18.
The coronavirus pandemic forced Porsche to delay the premiere of the car, but the wait was almost over. Step by step, the Porsche 911 (992) line is expanding and the company is now preparing for the presentation of the retro-stylish Targa model. Despite the fact that the prototypes did not indicate serious changes in appearance, nevertheless, we are eager to see how the final product will look without camouflage hiding the smallest details.
Recall that the 911 Targa was supposed to debut at the Beijing Motor Show, but then the event was rescheduled for September. Plan B included delivering the car to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, but it also failed because the event was canceled. Porsche has no choice but to resort to Plan C and host the world premiere of the online event on May 18th.
Today, the company decided to further increase interest in the new product by showing the public a teaser model with silver trim and a contrasting red fabric roof. Expect the new Targa to reflect the technical specifications of conventional Carrera models, which means a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and 379 or 443 horsepower. The “charged” version of the GTS is likely to appear later, and will have more power and other equipment.
Targa is not the only virtual show programmed in the coming weeks, as Porsche says the mysterious limited edition of the special 911 will debut on May 26th.
