The new Porsche 911 in the back of a convertible is seen almost without maskingDecember 14, 2018
This prototype of the Carrera 4S had a very small camouflage and the back of the car was hidden. Apparently, the official presentation of new items is just around the corner.
Having presented a new generation of its sports coupe 911 at the Los Angeles Motor Show last month, which received an internal factory index of 992, Porsche engineers are currently putting the final touches on the convertible version. We are dealing with a prototype Carrera 4S, which apparently is close to its serial version.
Judging by the fact that the camouflage on the car is very small, we can assume that the official presentation is not far off.
It is reported that the car was able to photograph on the streets of Germany. So far, there are no data on whether the long-awaited premiere will take place in January next year at the Detroit Auto Show or whether Geneva will be chosen as the venue (March 2019).
As I said above, the test prototype of the new Carrera 4S is practically not disguised, only the corners of the rear lights and the central part are covered with camouflage film. The same camouflage story on the rear bumper that hides the model designation: 911 Carrera 4S. The rest of the model is open for review and I must say that everything is exactly there as we expected.
The German novelty will be equipped with the same 6-cylinder 3.0-liter twin-turbo power unit with a capacity of 443 hp. and (530 Nm of torque) as the Porsche 911 version in the coupe. The dynamic characteristics of the latter are as follows: acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.2 seconds (with the Sport Chrono sports package), and the maximum speed is 306 km / h. Being a little harder, the cabriolet version will be a bit slower.
