The new Pilot crossover is presented. And this is not HondaSeptember 8, 2020
Newest SUV MG Pilot will appear under the MG brand in China
British brand MG, which is now owned by the Chinese corporation SAIC, has introduced a new model: a crossover, which, contrary to the tradition of the brand, received not an index, but a full name – Pilot. This is the same name Honda uses for the SUV, but it is not represented in China.
The MG Pilot was not only the first model of the brand on the local market with a full name, but also the first car, the design of which was carried out in accordance with the design style of the brand. Among the features of this concept are the protruding bonnet and a massive grille with a large MG logo in the middle, which is visually combined with the bumper.
The Pilot will be available with LED optics, wheels up to 19 inches, a digital instrument cluster and a panoramic roof as an option. The engine line, which will include turbocharged units, will be declassified by mid-autumn.
In the meantime, it is known that in the future the Chinese will be offered a “charged” version of the Pilot Trophy. It will differ from the standard crossover not only in the sporty design of the exterior and interior, but also in the reconfigured driving electronics.
MG hasn’t bothered to come up with original model names before. For example, this spring, the brand announced the Cyberster electric roadster, whose name is derived from the Cybertruck and Roadster, two Tesla models.
