The new Peugeot 508 station wagon starts in Europe with an expensive versionOctober 2, 2018
Accepting orders for the new Peugeot station wagon started in several European countries today, with the first to the dealers set off 508 SW Limited Edition First Edition. The prices, however, have not yet been named, but it is obvious that such a 508 SW will cost the buyers not cheap.
Peugeot 508 SW First Edition is different from the usual wagon black grille, Augusta alloy wheels with a diameter of 19 inches. Three body colors are available – Blue (Dark Blue), White (Pearly White) and Gray (Amazonite Gray).
For the limited edition car, a pair of engines is offered: a petrol 225-horsepower 1.6-liter engine and a 180-horsepower diesel version with a 2.0-liter capacity, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
For an ordinary station wagon, the PureTech 1.6 petrol engine with a 180 hp recoil is still available, completed with 8AKP; as well as BlueHDi diesel engines: a one and a half liter capacity of 130 hp paired with a six-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, and a two-liter 160-hp, paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Recall liftback Peugeot 508 was introduced in Geneva in March 2018. Sales in Europe started last month. Like the sister-car liftback Peugeot 508, the station wagon is based on the PSA concern’s EMP2 platform with McPherson struts and a rear multi-link suspension (the predecessor has the PF3).
The length of the 508 SW is 4.78 meters (5 cm less than its predecessor), height is 1.42 meters (6 cm less than the previous generation). At the same time, the wagon is only 3 cm longer and 2 cm taller (despite the presence of roof rails) than the liftback.
The design of the Peugeot 508 SW is not much different from the liftback. In addition to the already indicated roof rails, the model has a different stern version above the level of the lanterns. So, the novelty received a decorative black bar with the name of the brand.
Among the competitors of the Peugeot 508 SW: Kia Optima Sportwagon, Opel Insignia Sports Tourer, Renault Talisman, Volkswagen Passat Variant, Skoda Superb Combi and others.
