The German brand introduced the Combo minivan of a new generation, which received the name of the prefix Life. The cargo modification will debut later.

Van Opel Combo Life is built on the “cart” EMP2 French concern PSA Group and is actually the “twin” of the third generation Citroen Berlingo debuting last week. Recall, the previous Combo is a rebuilt version of Fiat Doblo. The front part of the new minivan is made in the corporate style of Opel, and on the side and back is the same Berlingo. But the airbagp of german car did not get this: the air-filled capsules remain a “chip” of the Citroen models.

Like Berlingo, the passenger Combo will be offered in two versions – standard, 4.4 meters long, and stretched, which has a 4.75 meter. For the latest version, a third row of seats is provided as an option. The capacity of the trunk of the short Opel Combo Life is 597 liters, with the backs of the rear seats folded up, it increases to 2,126 liters. The capacity of the cargo compartment of the stretched Combo Life is 850/2 693 l.

The interior is also almost identical to the interior of Berlingo: there are many boxes and niches for small things, you can order an additional organizer, which is located under the ceiling. But the steering wheel and fitting at Combo – their own. Plus, if the franch car already in the base version are three separate seats of the second row, then for the Opel model, such seats are available for a surcharge. The standard Combo Life – a regular sofa, divided in a proportion of 60:40.

For the minivan Opel also includes: a multimedia system with a “soaring” touchscreen, a rear-view camera, a front camera Opel Eye, collision avoidance systems, automatic emergency braking, warning of leaving the occupied band, adaptive cruise control, panoramic roof, climate control. In addition, the Combo can be equipped with an electronic traction control and torque distribution system between the front wheels IntelliGrip, which has five modes (depending on the road surface).

Opel has not yet disclosed data on the new minivan’s engines, saying only that the model will be available with gasoline and diesel engines with a turbo. Most likely, we are talking about the motors of the concern PSA Group: three-cylinder engine 1.2 PureTech (110 or 130 hp) and diesel 1.5 BlueHDi (75, 100 or 130 hp), the same is equipped with third-generation Citroen Berlingo. Transmission – a six-speed “mechanics” or eight-speed automatic transmission.

On the European market Opel Combo Life will be released in the second quarter of this year. At the same time, the new Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner will also be on sale. Yes, the Peugeot model of the next generation will also be dissected in the near future. And in the second half of 2018, freight versions of all three brands will be presented.
