Ola Kellenius, CEO of Germany’s Daimler, said the new S-class would take the luxury of the Maybach brand to a “new level,” but did not elaborate on what to expect. The Mercedes-Maybach S-class luxury sedan will debut in November.

The all-new Mercedes S-Class debuted earlier this month. The novelty is available in two versions with different wheelbases, both of which are longer than their predecessors. It is reported that a more luxurious version of the executive sedan from Mercedes-Maybach will also boast even greater axle spacing compared to its predecessor.

It is known that the latter will receive the in-plant index X223. The novelty will be unveiled in November at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China.

Daimler CEO Ola Kellenius said the model would take the Maybach brand to “the next level,” but did not elaborate. He said that the company’s main intention is to take advantage of the positioning of Maybach as a separate brand within Daimler.

Meanwhile, the Maybach S-Class sedan, which will debut in a couple of months, will be the only car in the entire Mercedes / Maybach lineup to feature a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine.

It is reported to have the same 621 hp. and 1000 Nm, as before, which in the case of the old Maybach S650 made it possible to accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. Impressive considering that the previous generation model weighed almost 2,400 kg.
