It is assumed that the second generation of the luxury coupe will receive a “soft” hybrid with a total capacity of up to 650 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The presentation should take place in 2021, and sales will begin in 2022.
Mercedes is not going to leave the segment of luxury supercars without its attention. At the moment, it is officially confirmed that work on the second generation AMG GT is already underway, and some details began to appear. As before, the supercar will be available both in the form of a coupe and with a roadster body.
But the most interesting thing is the power plant, which will feature a modernized 4.0-liter V8 turbocharged engine, paired with an electric motor. According to preliminary information, the total power will be about 650 hp. and 650 Nm. The hybrid will allow you to adjust the car to environmental standards, and also add torque to the stratum.
In addition, the novelty will receive a new intelligent all-wheel drive system. It will be able to automatically change the distribution of torque between the four wheels depending on conditions and events.
The debut of the second generation Mercedes-AMG GT 2022 model year is due to take place in 2021. Sales will begin no earlier than the beginning of 2022.
Meanwhile, Daimler’s CEO has confirmed the development of the AMG electric car. Mercedes-AMG already offers electrified models: CLS 53, E53 and GLE E53, but now it became known about a fully electric car.
