Mazda has unveiled a new generation of the CX-5 crossover. Public car’s debut has taken place at the Auto Show in Los Angeles. In Japan, sales of cars will begin in February. Over the next year the new product will be available in other markets. As before, CX-5 will compete with the Nissan Qashqai and Kia Sportage.
The design of the new Mazda CX-5 SUV 2017 model year made in the corporate style of Japanese brand «KODO – soul movement”. The design of the new CX-5 has become similar to the CX-9 and CX-4. The size of crossover wheelbase is unchanged, but thanks to shorter overhangs car length decreased by 5 mm compared with its predecessor. So, the car has the following dimensions: length – 4545 mm, width – 1840 mm, height -1690 mm. Size wheelbase – 2700 mm. The amount of luggage – 505 liters (+5 liters).

New seats are installed in the cabin of crossover, another instrument panel with 7-inch screen, projection display and infotainment system MZD Connect. Also, the driver available navigate and Bose sound system with 10 speakers.
The company noted that the new SUV available in the exclusive color called Soul Red Crystal.
The new Mazda CX-5 continues the tradition of its predecessor and received the entire spectrum of technology SKYACTIV, including two versions of Economics and light petrol engines – SKYACTIV-G and SKYACTIV-G 2.5, as well as environmental tyahovytyy and diesel SKYACTIV-D 2.2.
Depending on the market, new generation crossover Mazda CX-5 will be available with the same 4-cylinder power units. These are: petrol engines 2.0 Skyactiv-G 2.5 Skyactiv-G, 150-hp. P. and 192 hp. p. respectively, and diesel 2.2 Skyactiv-D. Transmission – 6-speed “mechanics” and a 6-speed “automatic”. The model is available all-wheel drive i-Active.

The construction of the chassis includes a front suspension MacPherson-type and semi-independent multi-link rear suspension. Novelty equipped driver assistance package i-ActiveSense. It includes, for example, radar cruise control and traffic sign recognition system. Also, the crossover has received G-Vectoring Control (GVC) system, which allows you to adjust the engine torque according to the steering angle. Due to this it is possible to optimize the load distribution on the wheels.
In the all-wheel drive i-Active uses synthetic oil that keeps low viscosity even at extremely cold temperature, thus reducing energy loss during operation. Using new ball bearings in the PTO shaft and rear differential also helps reduce energy loss.
