The new KIA Optima will not arrive in EuropeDecember 28, 2019
Journalists tried to find the reason for this decision. It turned out that the point is low sales.
The new KIA Optima business class sedan will not be offered at European car dealerships. This statement was made by KIA Motors Europe CEO Emilio Herrera. Mass media rumors were confirmed: KIA Motors UK completed the release of the model. It was decided to abandon the sedan due to the low demand for it. According to Kia Motors Corporation’s product manager, the launch of Optima in 2010 marked the start of a new era for the company. The design of the new sedan changed the brand perception in the markets. Now, the company hopes that the new K5 with a fastback design will have a similar effect.
This car is called one of the most athletic that has ever stepped off the assembly line of a brand factory. KIA K5 will help strengthen the position of the Korean brand in the sedan segment, as it was done by its predecessor. Experts from all three Kia design studios from Korea, North America and Europe were involved in the development of this model.
Recall that the front of the car demonstrates the evolution of KIA’s proprietary design with an original radiator grill, elegant LED optics and a wider air intake at the bottom of the bumper. With new features, the K5 looks more aggressive.
