The new Kia Ceed Sportswagon was more spacious than its predecessorMarch 6, 2018
The company Kia presented at the Geneva Motor Show a Ceed third generation wagon. The novelty turned out to be a bit larger and considerably more capacious than its predecessor.
Appearance Kia Ceed SW was created in the European design center of the South Korean brand. The novel has borrowed a number of stylistic elements from the sports fastbike Stinger, including the proprietary radiator grille “Nose Tiger”, while the rear of the body is made in the style of the versatile person Optima SW.
The new Kia Ceed SW received an increased rear overhang, which allowed for additional space in the cabin. The volume of the luggage compartment was 600 liters, which is 72 liters more than the second-generation model. When the seat is folded, the trunk size increases to 1660 liters.
The company noted that the new Ceed SW was “the most technically advanced compact station wagon”. The list of electronic “assistants” included adaptive headlights, a driver’s fatigue monitoring system, a function of observing traffic along the lane, as well as a front-crash warning system and active cruise control.
The station wagon will be available with a multimedia complex with an eight-inch touch screen, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. In addition, the JBL audio system and Wi-Fi access point are available.
Kia Ceed SW will divide the engine line with the hatchback. It will include a 1.4-liter 100-strong atmospheric, a one-liter unit with a capacity of 120 forces, as well as a 1.4 turbo engine, which produces 140 forces. The diesel range is represented by 1.6-liter motors with 115 and 136 hp. Transmission is a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission with two clutches.
European sales of the versatile person, as well as a hatchback, will begin in the autumn of this year. In the future, the list of modifications of the new Kia Ceed will be supplemented by the version with the body type Shooting Brake and the all-road variant.
