The new KIA Carnival minivan is completely revealedAugust 18, 2020
The new KIA Carnival debuted on Tuesday, August 18th. With the change of generation, the minivan moved to a new platform, and also received a more modern design.
The next KIA Carnival is now based on the Korean automaker’s new mid-size platform. The novelty was named “Grand Utility Vehicle”. Externally, the new minivan differs from its predecessor with a new radiator grille, original narrowed optics, daring LED DRLs and a redesigned front bumper. The lower air intake has a metal decor.
The stern has also noticeably changed: the wide light panel and the metal protective plate in the spirit of SUV models immediately attract attention. On the home market, the novelty will receive a rich palette of shades for painting the body – eight stylish options at once. You can also choose rims: they are aluminum with sizes from 17 to 19 inches.
The new platform made the fourth Carnival longer: +40 mm to the length and + 30 mm to the wheelbase. The architecture of the car interior depends on the country where it will be sold: a 3- or 4-row minivan with 7, 8 or 11 seats.
The salon of the novelty has a modernized virtual “tidy”, multimedia with a huge touchscreen, as well as a small camera that integrates with the media system. With its help, front passengers can see the picture from the rear seats.
Also, the new Carnival got “smart” rear doors with an electric drive.
The seats of the new minivan turned out to be as comfortable and functional as possibleThe car receives a fully independent suspension, and the manufacturer has taken care of the maximum comfort of the driver and his passengers – without unnecessary vibrations and extraneous noise. At home, the KIA Carnival engine lineup will include a 199-horsepower 2.2-liter diesel engine, a 3.5-liter gasoline engine with 268 hp, and a 3.5-liter 290-horsepower GDi V6. All power units work in conjunction with the 8АКПП.
Sales of the new minivan in the home market will start in the 3rd quarter of 2020. Other markets will be connected a little later.
Meanwhile, the RAM TRX pickup truck with a powerful engine was officially presented. The prototype of the novelty was presented four years ago, so the serial pickup had to come a long way. The pre-order for the new product may open on August 18.
