The new Honda N-VAN key car has caused a stir among buyersAugust 22, 2018
The release of the van from Honda became known in early June, and on July 13 it went on sale. It was expected that in the first month it will be possible to sell 3,000 copies of the model, but the company did not expect that by August 20 the number of cars sold would exceed 14,000! Thus, consumer demand was higher than forecasted more than four times. Not bad, right?
N-VAN is a delivery van for four seats and a fully glazed body. This arrangement of the cabin in Japan allows to classify the car as a category of personal trucks subject to a lower tax than a five-seated key car. It is built, by the way, on the same chassis as the N-BOX, but the body is absolutely original.
The van is offered in three versions – G, Fun and Cool. G is the simplest option; Fun is characterized by stylish performance of headlights, a different bumper and bright body colors, which corresponds to the name of the version; Cool has a chrome grille and an original bumper. Unlike the previous two options has a lower roof.
In all versions, the rear side doors move apart and the tailgate opens. Thanks to the folding rear row of seats, the car’s carrying capacity is increased to 350 kg. Interestingly, there is no central stand on the port side, which allows to get a large opening with a width of 1,580 mm with simultaneous opening of the front and rear doors.
In technical terms, the model corresponds to the N-BOX: a gasoline engine with a volume of 660 cm³. Atmospheric version of it produces 58 hp (6-speed manual transmission or variator), and turbocharged – 64 hp (only the variator). Available as front and four-wheel drive.
